ROD RUN VOLUNTEERS

The Downtown Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run 2008 will be a high energy, exciting event with lots of activities planned for the two and a half days.

It starts on Friday afternoon with a ‘cruise-in’ of up to 800 bright, shiny, pre-1973 hot rods and custom cars arriving on all roads leading into Hutchinson, followed by a welcome BBQ at the Avenue A Park that evening.

Saturday morning registered cars will have the option to take part in a Poker Run where they will drive around Hutchinson to visit five (5) of the City’s special attractions. Here they will visit and pick up a playing card. Back downtown they will park for a day long Show and Shine. The best poker hand will be awarded a cash prize at the Saturday Evening Sock Hop at Memorial Hall! The Sock Hop will include music, dancing, contests, food, drinks and live entertainment.

Sunday begins with Hot Rod Church at the Avenue A Park followed by more Show and Shine, an Open Header parade and finally, the awarding of prizes in a variety of categories.

Being a part of this event is a great way to have fun and be an active part of your community.
