SOCK HOP
The Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run is truly a rock & roll weekend with the greatest music of the 50’s and 60’s weaving through the event all three days. Whether it’s from the disc jockey, Marvin Ranich’s console or from bands on the Kansas State Fairgrounds Bretz Law Arena Stage, visitors will be yearning to hit the floor and dance – and we’re giving them that opportunity. Immediately following the Friday and Saturday evening Stock Car Races at the Fairgrounds track, visitors will be shuttled back to the Bretz Law Arena Stage where the band will be swinging and the dance floor will be ready for action. The refreshment tent will be open for late night snacks and cool beverages for every taste.
Friday evening will be the Rod Run’s popular old-fashioned Sock Hop featuring the best of rock and roll music from “The King Midas Band.”
Saturday night will feature the band “Rain” with a classic rock show for dancing.
You can enjoy the Rod Run and Car Show all day Friday or Saturday, be shuttled over to the Grandstand’s famous half-mile oval track for the Stock Car Races in the evening, then be shuttled back to the Bretz Law Stage and Arena at 9:00 pm for dancing under the stars– all for $15 per day.
If you want to come to the dance only, it’s $7 per day.
Enter the Fairgrounds at the 23rd street gate, park and join us at the stage at 9:00 pm. |
