When is the 2010 Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run?
Answer: The 2010 Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run will be held on Friday, July 2 through Sunday, July 4 at the Kansas State Fairgrounds, 2000 N. Poplar, Hutchinson, Kansas.
What time does it start?
Answer: Event times are as follows:
Thursday, July 1
- Noon – 8:pm – Show car registration and set-up, Vendor & Sponsor set-up
- 6:00 – 8:00 pm – Open practice for stock car races at Fairgrounds Track
Friday, July 2
- 8:00 am – 7:30 pm – Show car registration and set-up
- Noon – 10:00 pm – Fairground gates open to the public, Show & Shine of Vehicles, Vendor & Sponsor Displays and Demonstrations
- Noon – 7:00 pm – Swap Meet and Kid’s Activities open
- 4:00 – 8:00 pm – Welcome BBQ, Entertainment on the AT&T Stage
- 7:30 – 9:30 pm – Grand National Stock Car Races
- 9:00 – 12:00 midnight – Sock Hop at the AT&T Stage with “King Midas Band”, dancing, refreshment tent open

How much does it cost to enter as a spectator?
Answer: Admission for the Rod Run and the Grand National Stock Car Race Package is $15.00 per day for adults, $7.00 for kids 6-11, kids 5 and under are free.
Admission to the Rod Run Only is $7.00 per day for adults, $3.00 for kids 6-11, kids 5 and under are free.
Admission to the Races Only is $12 per day for adults, $5.00 for kids 6 -11, kids 5 and under are free.
Advanced tickets can be purchased online at www.kansasstatefair.com/tickets or at the administration building on the Fairgrounds.
How do I get to the 2010 Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run?
Answer: Go to the Event Map page for directions to the Fairgrounds. Entrance is at the 20th and Poplar gate or the 23rd and Main gate.
As a spectator, where do I park?
Answer: You can park on the streets surrounding the Fair grounds, or after you enter at either the 23rd and Main gate or the 20th and Poplar gate you may park anywhere you wish on the grounds, surrounding the event area.
How do I enter my car?
Answer: You can pre-register online by going to www.hutchrodrun.com and clicking on Vehicle Registration. Registration is open to ANTIQUE CARS & TRUCKS, CUSTOM RODS, STREET RODS, MUSCLE CARS, MOTORCYCLES, CUSTOM TRUCKS, RAT RODS AND EXOTIC VEHICLES in show quality, safe, with no broken glass. Any year Corvette, Mustang or Charger is permitted. Fill out the official registration form online with a credit card or PayPal and then email it to jerry@hutchrodrun.com, or send a color photo of the vehicle to Hutch Rod Run, P.O. Box 627, Hutchinson, KS, 67504-0627. You can also download a registration form from the website, fill it out, enclose the form with a color photo of the vehicle and a check for the proper amount and mail your completed registration to Hutch Rod Run, P.O. Box 627, Hutchinson, KS, 67504-0627.
Can I register on-site?
Yes.
- Vehicle Registration Forms will be available at vehicle check-in beginning Thursday, July 1, at noon. Vehicles may be registered on-site until Friday, July 2 at 7:30 pm. Check-in location will be at the Kansas State Fairgrounds. You will enter at the Gate at 23rd and Main Street and follow the signs.
- The fee for registration of show vehicles is $25.00 for an outdoor space or $30.00 for an indoor space (depending upon availability). Multiple-car discounts are available. Contact Jerry Regier by email at jerry@hutchrodrun.com or by phone at 620-966-3315.
Can I register for only one day?
Answer: No, when you register, you are registered for the entire event. You may attend one or all days.
How much does it cost to enter my vehicle?
Answer:
- Registration is $25.00 to park in a space outdoors, and $30.00 to park inside in one of the climate-controlled buildings – the Sunflower buildings, the Meadowlark building, or the Pride of Kansas building. Upon check-in you will be assigned to a location where you may park your vehicle. There is a multiple-car discount for registering more than one car. To qualify as a registered vehicle, your vehicle must meet the standards below:
The show is OPEN TO ANTIQUE CARS AND TRUCKS, CUSTOM RODS, STREET RODS, MUSCLE CARS, MOTORCYCLES, CUSTOM TRUCKS, RAT RODS AND EXOTIC VEHICLES. All vehicles are subject to year-of-manufacture verification.
All vehicles at the Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run must be licensed, insured, registered, show quality and safe for the event. No motorized or non-motorized contrivances which do not comply with these requirements shall be ridden or driven on the event grounds. Only recognized, single occupant handicap contrivances, motorized or non-motorized, will be allowed. The decision of the Hutchinson Rod Run officials will be final.
- Show quality vehicles with no broken glass
- Upon inspection of pre-registered vehicle, organizers reserve the right to revoke registration. If revoked, fee will be refunded within three weeks after event.
- No unauthorized bicycles, skate boards, golf carts, or motorized carts allowed within event boundary.
- No roping off of large sections or spaces (All spaces are assigned numbers.)
- Vehicles activating hydraulics and/or air bags, flames from exhaust, obscene or offensive artwork, signs, stickers, etc. are prohibited
- Open exhaust system rules are strictly enforced.

How many spaces are available?
Answer: Space is limited to the first 500 vehicles approved. Each participant will receive a reserved parking space and assigned a number.
I heard there are Reserved Parking Spaces available for Participants. How do I get one?
Answer: Your registration fee includes a reserved parking space and assigned space number for the entire event. Click here for registration.
I’ve registered my vehicle, now how do I find my reserved parking space number?
Answer: Prior to the event you will receive a confirmation letter indicating your area and space number. If you register at the Fairgrounds the day of the event, you will receive your space number there. At registration and check-in at the Fairgrounds everyone will receive an event map showing the areas of reserved parking.
Will there be trophies awarded?
Yes, there will be trophies awarded* in a number of classes. Select your class on the Vehicle Registration form.
*The J.D. Hayes Memorial, Best of Show Award, will be presented to the car determined by the judges to be the top car of the show. The car winning this award will be featured on the Hutchinson Rock’ Rollin’ Rod Run logo for 2011.
Where are your hotels/motels? Can I stay in my R.V.?
Answer: Hutchinson and the surrounding communities have many hotels and motels to meet your accommodation needs. RVers can park their trainers and motor homes at the Fairgrounds. Click here to view the area hotel/motel/RV accommodations.
