When is the Downtown Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run?
Answer: The Downtown Hutchinson Rock’ Rollin’ Rod Run will be held on Friday, October 3 through Sunday, October 5, 2008.

What time does it start?
Answer: Event times are as follows:

Friday, October 3rd

Car registration begins at noon
Welcome BBQ, 5– 9 p.m.

Saturday, October 4th

Vehicle registration begins at 7 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m.
Poker Run 9 a.m. (registered cars only)
Show and Shine and downtown activities, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sock Hop begins at 8 p.m.

Sunday, October 5th

NO vehicle registration on Sunday
Hot Rod Church, 8:30 a.m.
Show and Shine, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Open Header, 1 to 3 p.m.
Awards ceremony, 3 p.m.

How much does it cost to enter as a spectator?
Answer: As a spectator, the event is FREE in the downtown area. There is a fee for some events such as tickets to the Sock Hop Saturday evening or movies at the Fox Theater.

How do I get to the Downtown Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run?
Answer: Go to the Event Map page for directions.

As a spectator, where do I park?
Answer: There are numerous free parking lots on Washington Street and Walnut Street to the east and west of Main Street, and side streets from Main to Washington and Walnut that are available for spectator parking. Main Street will be closed from 3rd Avenue to Avenue C for the event.

How do I enter my car?
Answer: Pre-Register: OPEN TO ANTIQUE CARS & TRUCKS, CUSTOM RODS, STREET RODS, MUSCLE CARS, MOTORCYCLES, CUSTOM TRUCKS, RAT RODS AND EXOTIC VEHICLES in show quality with no broken glass and safe. Any year Corvette, Mustang or Charger is permitted. Fill out an official registration form, a color photo of the vehicle, and enclose a check for the proper amount. Mail your completed registration to Hutch Rod Run, 3817 Prairie Hills, Hutchinson, KS 67502 or you may complete your registration on-line with a credit card or PayPal and mail registration and photo.

Onsite Registration? (means new registration – not pre-registered)
Answer:

Vehicle Registration Forms will be available at vehicle check-in beginning Friday, October 3, 2008 at noon. Check-in location will be at the State Fairgrounds. Click here for a map.
Show vehicle is not required onsite to register.
If you do not bring your show vehicle, you must bring a good quality color photo of the vehicle you are registering.
Appropriate payment of $40.00 for on-site registration.

What are the times for Pre-registration, check-in and new On-Site Registration?
Answer: Registration is located at the State Fairgrounds. Click here for a map.
Pre-registration, check-in and new On-Site Registration are Friday, noon to 8:00 p.m., Saturday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Can I register for only one day?
Answer: No, when you register, you are registered for the entire event. You may attend one or all days.

How much does it cost to enter my vehicle?
Answer: Your registration fee includes a reserved parking space and assigned space number for the entire event, official event t-shirt, commemorative dash plaque, two tickets to the Saturday evening Sock Hop, two tickets to the Fox Theater and a goodie bag full of coupons and other gifts.

To qualify as a registered vehicle , your vehicle must meet the standards below:

OPEN TO ANTIQUE CARS & TRUCKS, CUSTOM RODS, STREET RODS, MUSCLE CARS, MOTORCYCLES, CUSTOM TRUCKS, RAT RODS AND EXOTIC VEHICLES. All vehicles are subject to year-of-manufacture verification.

All vehicles at the Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run must be licensed, insured, registered, show quality and safe for the event. No motorized or non-motorized contrivances which do not comply with these requirements shall be ridden or driven on the event grounds. Only recognized, single occupant handicap contrivances, motorized or non-motorized, will be allowed. The decision of the Downtown Hutchinson Rod Run Officials will be final.

Show quality vehicles with no broken glass.
All street legal equipment (lights, etc.) is required on your vehicle for the Poker Run.
Exceptions for minor items may be made at the discretion of the organizers.
Upon inspection of pre-registered vehicle, organizers reserve the right to revoke registration. If revoked, fee will be refunded within three weeks after event.
No unauthorized bicycles, skate boards, golf carts, or motorized carts allowed within event boundary.
No roping off of large sections or spaces (All spaces are assigned numbers.)

What Restrictions are there?
Answer:

Vehicles activating hydraulics and/or air bags; flames from exhaust; obscene or offensive artwork, signs, stickers, etc. are prohibited
Open exhaust system rules are strictly enforced. Open Header: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 5, 2008 only.
No “For Sale” signs are allowed. Discreet decal/paint is allowed.
No unauthorized bicycles, skateboards, golf carts, and motorized carts allowed within event boundary.
No roping off large sections or spaces.

Now many spaces are available?
Answer: Space is limited to the first 800 vehicles approved. Each participant will receive a reserved parking space and assigned number.

I heard there are Reserve Parking Spaces Available for Participants. How do I get one?
Answer: Your registration fee includes a reserved parking space and assigned space number for the entire event. Click here for registration

I’ve registered my vehicle, now how do I find my reserved parking space number?
Answer: Prior to the event you will receive a confirmation letter indicating your area and space number. At registration you will also receive an event map showing the areas of reserved parking.

Will there be trophies awarded:
OVER 100 TROPHIES WILL BE AWARDED* SELECT YOUR CLASS AT EVENT CHECK-IN

*THE J.D. HAYES MEMORIAL BEST OF SHOW AWARD WILL BE PRESENTED TO THE CAR DETERMINED BY THE JUDGES TO BE THE TOP CAR OF THE SHOW. THE CAR WINNING THIS AWARD WILL BE FEATURED ON THE DOWNTOWN ROCKIN’ ROLLIN’ ROD RUN LOGO FOR 2009.

Where are your hotels/motels? Can I stay in my R.V.?
Answer: Hutchinson and the surrounding communities have many hotels and motels to meet your accommodation needs. R.V.ers can park their trailers and motor homes at the State Fairgrounds. Click here to view the area hotel/motel/RV accommodations.
