WELCOME BBQ

Hutchinson residents are invited to come out to the Fairgrounds on Friday, July 2nd to kick off their Fourth of July holiday weekend and help us welcome the hot rodders and other visitors who will be coming to town to enjoy the 3rd Annual Hutchinson Rockin’ Rollin’ Rod Run at a great Kansas outdoor BBQ. Everyone is welcome!

Once again this year, local Hutchinson Fire Fighters will bring out their huge BBQ smoker and grill to prepare and serve up mouthwatering pulled pork and brisket, hamburgers and hot dogs, sausages and all the trimmings. Oh my! This will be your first opportunity to see the hundreds of bright, shiny hot rods lined up, shined up, ready for your inspection and enjoyment.

After the BBQ and a review of the hot rods, you’ll want to make your way over to the Grandstands and take in the 54th Annual Grand National Stock Car Races. After the races, we’ll shuttle you back to the Bretz Law Arena Stage for a rockin’ good time with “The King Midas Band.” There’ll be dancing and celebrating and lots of fun!

And just so you know, you’ll be well fed during your visit to the Rod Run and Races. Other outstanding food vendors include Krehbiels with German sausage, brauts and polish sausage, an old-fashioned soda wagon, Martens shaved ice, the Dip and Dots wagon, and of course funnel cakes, nachos, corn dogs, hot wings, biscuits and gravy, cinnamon rolls and salads, apple dumplings, ice cream, cobbler, pie and so many other treats. So come early, have breakfast, lunch and dinner and even snacks after the races. We’ll keep you well-fed and entertained all day!
